FD3800 Optical DO Meter (Fluorescence Dissolved Oxygen Meter) is an easy-to-carry, battery-powered handheld DO testing instrument. FDO3800 is equipped with a fluorescent excitation probe for detecting the concentration of dissolved oxygen.

Compare to those traditional electrochemical-based thin film electrolyte DO probes, optical DO probe purely detects the reflected light from fluorescence excitation, and results the degree of dissolved oxygen in water. In the optical probe, there are no film, no electrode, and no electrolyte, so, it will not be interfered by the penetration of other contaminants in the water sample. So, the reading value will not have drift due to condition changes in the probe itself.

Two Models for Saltwater & Freshwater

FDO3800 series optical DO meters are available in two models. Professional Saltwater DO Meter has an additional salinity electrode, which measures the salinity of salt water samples.

If you only need to measure fresh water samples, you can choose the Regular Freshwater DO Meter. There is no need to measure salt and the price is more favorable.
