Description

Specac offers a Short Pathlength Gas Cell that is ideal for routine gas and vapour spectroscopic analysis. The cell has a fixed 10 cm pathlength, and there are two models available for either room temperature / low pressures analysis (by standard model) or heated temperature up to 250°C, and the pressure from vacuum to 1Bar (heated model). The sample gas can be in static or flow conditions. Regarding to the material of the cell, Pyrex™ and stainless steel are available for the standard model. But the heated model is only stainless steel chamber available. The heated model of Storm Short Pathlength Gas Cell has an injection septum sample introduction port and is heated by a low voltage (30v) heater surrounding the body. The exact gas temperature can be measured with an additional monitoring thermocouple (supplied) which passes through a vacuum tight seal into the gas cavity. The cell is supplied with a High Stability Temperature Controller with a factory fitted option for control via RS232, RS485 or USB connectivity if ordered. The cell can be converted to a flow mode via 1/16” stainless steel flow tube in exchange at the injection septum and additional monitoring thermocouple connection ports. 

Both Short Pathlength Gas Cell are supplied with a choice of NaCl, KBr, CaF2, BaF2, or ZnSe infrared transmission windows, and is mounted in an optical spectrometer with a version of 3” by 2” slide mount holder. Pyrex™ and PTFE taps are used on the Pyrex™ version of cell, whilst stainless steel and Viton® sealed valves are used on the stainless steel version of cell, to introduce samples to the cell.
