Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) is a thermoanalytical analyzer, to which measures the difference in the amount of heat required to increase the temperature of a sample and reference. In the condition of keeping the same temperature of sample and reference, measure its heat flow (W/g), and get the DSC chart, in order to analyze the characteristics of sample.

Differential Thermal Analyzer (DTA) works in a different way. DTA gives the same heat flow, and compare the temperature difference and relationship to the reference.
